History of the DeckDeckWhile the suits are separate entities, all who join the Deck come for their own reasons, and often stay because there’s nowhere else that fits them as well. The Deck is, in many ways, a home of many lost souls. This is an important aspect, and a uniting force, of the Deck. Because while the Suits may quarrel and skirmish, they are still part of the same entity – political views aside.
♠ Spades ♠A house of spies and manipulation, those who enjoy both shiny court politics and shady under dealings would be best found in the Spade's company. But while the Spades are a den of cruelty, they expect a veneer of manners, and therefore require more old-fashioned interactions within the Court structure.
♦ Diamonds ♦A Suit more often more pressed with appearances than with the deeper meaning, that does not preclude Diamonds from the politics that make up all of the other cards, though money and appearance are considered to be them most important aspects of power. Much like the Spades, the Diamonds are a more formal court, and require interactions to have the veneer of courtly manners - all for the sake of appearances.
♣ Clubs ♣The Clubs represent inner wisdom, industriousness, and creative enthusiasm. More relaxed, much like the Hearts, the Clubs are significantly less appearance obsessed than the Spades or Diamonds. The Suit has an extremely strong court loyalty, and most actions are dedicated to protecting the family and their friends. Morality also plays a very important role in the Club's actions, with a pervasive wish to do right. This sense of loyalty extends towards almost all aspects of their lives, drilled into them as the most important thing as soon as they join the Suit.
♥ Hearts ♥The Hearts are a Court of love, as their sigil would suggest, and they are more interested in maintaining good relations than collecting prizes. An easy going Court, it is much more informal than that of the Spades or the Diamonds - both of which are much more attached appearances than the Hearts. With such a relaxed atmosphere, the Suit of Hearts is by far the most welcoming of the four within the Deck. As such they are a collection of various people, from high and low backgrounds. Some have even left other Suits to seek asylum within the Hearts, while others come because of the Hearts' willing forgiveness of past sins; offering a chance to start over.
